CUSTOM SIDING INSTALLATION

State of the Art

Durability. Energy Efficiency. Curb Appeal.

the Better Homes Siding & Improvements promise:

Front porch of a modern house with black and white exterior, stone foundation, black front door, white railings, steps leading up to the porch, and small bushes with red flowers in the garden.

Aside from aesthetics, your home’s siding shields and insulates it from the harsh elements of the weather. Maintaining it is crucial to keep out moisture that can quickly lead to mold, mildew, and structural damage.

It’s our priority to educate you about the process of installing proper insulation, as well as the siding style of your choice so that you can save money on your energy bill and preserve your home’s beauty for decades to come.

FAMILIARIZE YOURSELF WITH YOUR CHOICES

Put a “face” to the name, or type of siding, so you can start to form an idea of what will be the best fit for your home.

Vinyl Clapboard

Front of a gray house with white trim, black shutters, a red door, and a small front porch. The house has multiple windows, a gabled roof with dark shingles, and a chimney. There are trees in the background and a lawn with some bushes and a walkway leading to the front door.

a best-seller

Clapboard siding, the most popular siding sold today, is made up of long narrow boards or panels which are nailed horizontally across the house.

Vinyl clapboard siding can be made to look exactly like wooden siding and comes in a variety of different styles, colors, textures, thickness, and lengths. Can be easily cleaned with a hose.

*Note: By adding insulation to your siding, you can save money every year by cutting your energy costs. You’ll want to ask about Insulated Clapboard Vinyl Siding.

Stone Veneer

Front view of a modern house with white siding and stone accents, a black garage door, a white SUV parked in the driveway, and a well-maintained green lawn with bushes and a large gray planter with plants on a paved walkway.

Stone veneer siding consists of thinly cut pieces of stone that are applied to the side of a home.

Installing stone veneer on the exterior of your home is a smart investment. When it’s time to sell, benefit from one of the highest returns (92% ROI) of any major remodeling project. (Source: Remodeling magazine 2014 Cost vs. Value Report)

It can be kept beautiful using a soft bristle brush and a bucket of soapy water — no regular repainting, recaulking, tuckpointing, or sealing is needed.

Board & Batten

A house with black-framed windows and doors, white vertical siding, and a partially constructed wooden porch with vertical support beams and a sloped roof.

Board and Batten Siding or Vertical Siding runs up and down, or vertically across your house. Alternating wide and narrow vertical panels combine in a simple, yet beautiful, design well suited to distinctive architectural styles.

Sometimes called "Barn Siding" because it was used on barns all across the U.S. for many years.

It is still used today and comes in various widths and is commonly used as an accent on garages and gables.

Vinyl Shakes

Close-up of a house's exterior featuring stone and green siding, with multiple windows and a steeply pitched roof.

Vinyl shakes mimic the rustic outdoor look of real hand-cut cedar shakes at half the cost of real wooden shakes.

They’re created from molds made of genuine cedar which gives them an appearance of being hand-split with random grooves and grain. The sun’s light creates a beautiful depth of shadow as it hits the vinyl shakes rough split texture.

Shake siding is both used in whole house applications or as an accent, most commonly on gables and dormers*. (*Visit our Accessories page to learn about these.)

Vinyl Shingles

Front exterior of a house with gray shingles, white trim, black shutters, a window, a black outdoor light fixture, and a screened door with a decorative windmill design.

Vinyl shingles feature an authentic sawmill texture, with molded textures and patterns that replicate the effect of saw blades and splitting tools. Many manufacturers feature mitered corner posts that are offset, which blends corners harmoniously for a more accurate appearance.

The difference between vinyl shingles and vinyl shakes is that all shingles have sawmill and perfection textures and all shakes have rough-split textures.

Vinyl Scallops

The image shows the front of a house with white siding, black shutters, a white door, and a small porch. There are pink flowers and green plants in the front yard, along with a small pathway leading to the porch. The roof is dark gray and there are trees and a blue sky in the background.

Vinyl scallops are used in whole-house applications or as an accent, most commonly on gables and dormers. These profiles add distinction to a design and greatly enhance curb appeal.

Because of the versatility of the technology, vinyl siding can comprehensively recreate a great variety of shingle profiles in this creative cladding type.
